Job Description:

Job Title: Anatomic Pathology and Cytology Unit Head
Report to: Lab. Director ، Group Medical Director
Directly supervise: Lab Senior, Lab Tech, Medical Secretary and Pathologists
Summary of Duties: To plan, organize, coordinate and oversee the overall operation of laboratory activities concerned with the processing of specimen, to read and report histopathology and cytology slides, to review positive case specimen

Main Duties:

  1. Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of laboratory staff; develop work performance standards.
  2. Schedule and assign work and develop priorities; provide technical expertise as needed or requested.
  3. Establish and revise laboratory policies and procedures; develop and maintain appropriate control and quality assurance procedures.
  4. Ensure compliance with current safety requirements; coordinate laboratory activities with other state and federal agencies and entities.
  5. Develop and monitor the laboratory budget; approve purchase of equipment and supplies.
  6. Maintain knowledge of technological advancements in public health laboratory testing, computer applications and specialized instrumentation.
  7. Work cooperatively with health providers and health officials, regarding the identification of chemical and biological hazards; maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate.
  8. Specify in writing the responsibilities and duties of each consultant and each person engaged in the performance of the preanalytic, analytic and postanalytic phases of testing, that identifies which examinations and procedures each individual is authorized to perform, whether supervision is required for specimen processing, test performance or results reporting and whether consultant or director review is required prior to reporting patient test results.
  9. Lead and direct the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  10. Read and report histopathology and cytology slides; review for positive case specimen; check and verify result prior to release.

Job Requirements:

Education:
Professional qualifications
FRC Path or equivalent

Experience
1-2 years of experience including two years under the direction of a qualified doctorate level director in a hospital, university, health department, medical research institution or Medicare approved laboratory; with two (2) years supervisory experience involving supervision of professional laboratory personnel.

Certification / Licensures
- Full registration with HAAD Authority Or DHA , Or DHA eligibility Letter , Or MOH
- International License whioch is eligible for direct licensing

Job Summary:

  • IAC Certificate.
